A little preparation before your appointment and gentle care afterwards can make your waxing experience more comfortable and help protect your skin.

Waxing preparation & aftercare

Acids & exfoliationFor the first 48 hours, avoid retinoids, AHA/BHA acids, scrubs and other exfoliating products on the waxed area. Once the skin is calm after 48 hours, gently exfoliate every 2–3 days to help prevent ingrown hairs.
Protect freshly waxed skinAvoid direct sun exposure and tanning on the waxed area for at least 72 hours. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and may be more likely to become red, sunburned or peel.
Keep water comfortably coolFor 24 hours after waxing, avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas and steam rooms. Use lukewarm or cool water instead.
Soothe sensitive skinTemporary redness can be normal. If your skin feels sensitive, apply a light layer of fragrance-free aloe vera gel to help soothe and calm the area.
Hollywood waxing scheduleFor the most comfortable and consistent result, we generally recommend booking every 4–6 weeks. Hair that is much longer may feel more uncomfortable to remove, while hair that is too short may not be caught by the wax.
Hair length & safe waxingAn ideal hair length is usually around 0.5–1 cm. Very short hairs may not lift cleanly. For your skin’s safety, we will not repeatedly wax the same area, as over-waxing can cause irritation or skin lifting; a few short hairs may therefore remain.
